If we believe that Jesus and the gospel have the same power yesterday, today and forever, then we must ask why so few churches are having the impact they desire. We need to face major issues like church culture, discipleship, mission and leadership with humility, honesty and courage and be willing to make the changes needed whatever the cost.

We know the local church has the potential to transform communities. By working together and encouraging one another in our own unique contexts, we can experience substantial growth and influence. The processes that Lead Academy has developed are proving to be a significant means of achieving just that.

Lead Academy exists to help churches fulfill God’s purpose for them in their local context.

What Can I expect?

Lead Academy uses a distinctive and creative approach to equipping leaders and enabling churches to fulfil their vision.

Most leadership events are low on participation and high on information, with about 90% of the knowledge being imparted by the speaker. We have seen how a much more collaborative approach to learning has significant advantages over the traditional leadership events model. Using learning communities, coaching and the sharing of resources and best practice, we recognise that 60-70% of the information needed to develop our leadership is already present within those participating. Through good facilitation members can benefit significantly from one another’s experiences, knowledge and passion.

Our interactive learning methods connect churches and leaders. Together participants work through the challenges and opportunities of leading churches in a 21st Century context.

Leadership house

Through years of experience of church leadership in many different kinds of church within a variety of contexts, the Lead Academy team has developed a passion for establishing and sharing leading practices.  From these years of experience, and drawing together the best of the best, the Lead Academy has developed our five Church Leadership priorities.  We have described these using the image of a house with five rooms – The Lead Academy House.  We firmly believe that one model does not fit all situations, and so this is not a model which you can simply drag and drop into your context.  Rather, the Lead Academy House is designed to help leaders identify the way the Lord is calling them to lead in their particular situation..

The Lead Academy House consists of five “Rooms” which represent key areas that we believe make the greatest difference in leading a church community into the fullness of God’s purposes.
